Sentinel Watch vs UptimeRobot

UptimeRobot is the default hosted uptime brand: a never-expiring Free plan with 50 monitors and 5-minute checks, then paid Solo/Team/Scale plans for 60s–15s intervals, more integrations, and fancier status pages. Sentinel Watch is also hosted, also 5-minute HTTP checks, and also starts at 50 monitors — but there is no paid upgrade path on this product. Choose UptimeRobot if you need SMS, Slack, a mobile app, or sub-minute detection. Choose Sentinel Watch if you want a free status page, SSL expiry emails, and keyword checks without creating a billing relationship.

When UptimeRobot is the better tool

You need 60-second or faster checks, notify seats, a native mobile app, heartbeats, DNS/port/UDP types, or status-page subscribers and custom domains. Their knowledge hub and incident tooling are also far ahead of a one-person hosted monitor.

When Sentinel Watch is enough

You have a handful of HTTPS sites, email is an acceptable page, and you want a public status URL without paying for Statuspage. See also our limits and the uptime monitoring guide.

If 5-minute email alerts are enough, you do not need a UptimeRobot paid plan.
