Status pages customers can actually read

A public status page is a page you can send to users during an incident instead of a tweet thread. Sentinel Watch generates one per account slug at /status/[slug] for monitors marked public. The layout follows the pattern people know from Atlassian Statuspage and Better Stack: a large overall banner (operational, degraded, or outage), per-service 90-day history bars, and a timeline of recent incidents. Visitors do not need an account. Custom domains, email subscribers, and password-protected pages are not in this product yet — those are the usual paid upsells elsewhere.

What visitors see

  • Overall banner driven by whether every public monitor is UP
  • Service list with live status
  • 90-day uptime bars (empty segments until history exists)
  • Recent incidents with duration when resolved
  • Powered-by footer linking back to Sentinel Watch

How you enable it

When adding a monitor, open Advanced and check “Show on public status page.” The dashboard card then exposes a copyable /status/… URL. Settings also lists the slug if any public monitor exists.

Status page questions

Can customers see my status page without logging in?

Yes. Public status pages are unauthenticated. Only monitors you mark as public are listed. Private monitors stay on your dashboard.

Can I hide the page from search engines?

Not via a dashboard toggle yet. If you need a private URL, do not mark monitors public, or use an unguessable slug and avoid linking it from your marketing site.

Do you support status.example.com custom domains?

Not yet. Pages live at this app’s /status/[slug] path. UptimeRobot and Better Stack sell custom domains on paid plans; we are honest that this is a hosted path, not a white-label domain.

Create a monitor, mark it public, copy the URL. That is the whole workflow.
